It would seem energy from the sun should be free or nearly so. But that’s not the case. Coal is still twice as cheap.

Drive by the TEP generating plant on the southside and you will see tons and tons of coal ready to be burned to air condition our homes this time of year. Until someone figures out how to bring the costs closer together, coal will be the preferred method of generating electricity. Read More of Bud’s Story

Tucson Monsoons

Tucson’s Monsoon Storms are days, if not hours away. The Sonora Desert that surrounds Tucson and Pima County can turn from a dry 107 degree day into a cool 83 degree day in a matter of minutes. For those who have never experienced a Tucson monsoon you are in for a treat.

What is a monsoon storm?

Monsoon rain Monsoon storms in Tucson are a result of moisture brought in primarily off the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf of California. The combination of moisture, high pressure domes, and low pressure domes make the ingredients that build miles above the ground to unleash millions of gallons of moisture. When this moisture begins its path to the desert it develops wind sheer.

Let Freedom Sing

The Secret About Solar Homes

The secret about solar homes isn’t really a secret in Tucson. Solar homes have been in Tucson, Arizona for some years now. The most prominent communities are Civano and Armory Del Sol. Both are products of forward thinking by a Solar_farm gentleman named John Wesley Miller. A very private man who sees the advantages of an abundant source of energy. One of John’s designs in Armory Del Sol is nearly self sufficient for solar electrical energy.

Tucson Welcomes In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out Burger opens its doors in Tucson at 3711 E Broadway on April 24, 2007. I love their freshly cut french fries, fresh lettuce and tomatoes.

I can picture the car clubs of Tucson, last count was 30, merging on In-N-Out with 57 Chevy’s, 65 Mustangs, 68 GTX’s, 67 Chevelles (like the one in my garage), 57 T-Birds, and 63 Corvettes.

How can I tell my cardiologist that my office is 3 minutes from one of the greatest fast food restaurants in Tucson? If you have never been to one, its a must try delight.

Welcome to Tucson In-N-Out. 04/25/07 Update…

Tucsonans more than welcomed In-N-Out. Opening their doors at 10:00 AM lines grew to a 2 hour wait. Drivers ran out of gas. I salivate at the thought of an In-N-Out double burger. But, I think I’ll wait a week for the lines to go down. Lines were reported all the way back to Starbucks. Bet they had a good frapacino day. The second In-N-Out will be coming later this year in Marana.
