Make-A-Wish True Winner - ADOT SECC Golf Tournament

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was the real winner benefiting from the inaugural ADOT SECC Golf Tournament at Grand Valley Golf Course. In a few short months employees from the Arizona Department of Transportation in concert with SECC (State Employee Charitable Campaign) put together a fun and memorable golf tournament.
There was a foursome for every hole to get off to a great shotgun start. Unlike many tournaments I have played in, teams played record breaking time. Rarely was there a wait for the next team to finish a hole. (more…)

Here’s A Quick Way to Help Make-A-Wish Foundation and Play Golf

One More Victory Ara Golf Tournament

The 12th Annual One More Victory Ara Golf Tournament will be this weekend May 4-5, 2007 at Tucson’s beautiful Westin La Paloma Golf Resort. This event supports the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation. ”Funds raised at the event will support ongoing medical research in the quest to find a cure for Niemann-Pick Type C (NP-C), a genetic, pediatric, neurodegenerative disorder.” With the loss of three grandchildren to NP-C,read the words of Coach Parseghian has asks to help find a cure.

Old News Bright Future For Golfers and Golf Fans

Old news with a bright future. In February Tucson welcomed World Golf Championship’s Accenture Match Play at the Gallery South Golf Course.
Jack Nicklaus was in town for the inaugural Tucson event and announced the development of a Jack Nicklaus designed Dove Mountain II course for future tournaments.
Tucson El Conquistadors labored to insure that the event was a success. Their experience with prior year’s Chrysler Classics aided in the experience needed to pull off the largest golf event of Tucson. The El Conquistadors are also responsible to youth development through the First Tee program in Tucson.
Throughout the year there are numerous tournaments and events. Dave Pelz holds annual putting camps at Arizona National Golf Course. This is the place to be for golfing information.
