Obama or McCain, Who is best for America?
October 28th, 2008 categories: Just Because
I am concerned that too many Americans will make an ill informed decision on November 4th based on charisma, and not fact. Americans need to press the issue. Are we being told the truth? Is our economic future best in the hands of one politician versus another? Who will do the most damage?
While in a prison camp, where nobody was watching, one presidential nominee, John McCain, thought of his fellow Americans before himself. What does that say about integrity? His record may not be perfect. Face it, no politician’s record is perfect. He believes in America as our forefathers did. John McCain has admitted he used poor judgment of association in the Keating Five incident. He can admit to being human and making a mistake.
I have serious unanswered questions about Obama. Why does he feel that he know better than our forefathers on what our constitution should stand for? Why does he want to rewrite it? In 2001 Obama ripped the US Constitution, stating that the US Constitution did not provided for redistribution of wealth. Why is the press not questioning him about it? Those were his words on that radio station that you heard, not John McCain’s. McCain is repeating what Obama said in 2003. Why does Obama deny that today?
Obama claimed he was just a neighbor of Bill Ayers. More and more information is coming out to prove otherwise. Why can’t he be truthful about his relationship? What is he hiding? When recently asked if he had remorse for what he did, Ayers refused to answer. I don’t think Obama is a terrorist. I do question his judgment in who he has associated with in the past. I question his honesty in revealing such associations. Why won’t he admit he was wrong and move on? I can respect that. I cannot respect denial and cover up.
His denial of any meaningful association raises further suspicion when you investigate Obama’s association with Rashid Khalidi. A few weeks back Khalidi was instrumental in Mahmoud Amadinejad speaking at Columbia University. Then there are the tapes of Obama in 2003 at a going away party for Khalidi. That’s two errors in judgment. Do your research.
What about ACORN? We get mixed messages about that as well. Do you know what ACORN is the acronym for? How did Obama respond? “What they’re actually about is the unprecedented effort to essentially sap the American people of confidence in the voting process,” Bob Bauer, the Obama campaign’s general counsel, said Friday on a conference call. What about that $800,000 allegedly paid to ACORN? Was it ethical? Was it above board? Do your research.
By the way, do you know the tactics Obama used to get into office in the first place? Eliminate the competition. Is there a pattern here of using he system? Do you know he studied the theories and philosophy of Saul Alinsky while becoming a community organizer?
McCain is not hard to figure out. He has been out in the public and transparent for some time. Obama raises a lot of unanswered questions. There have been many charismatic extremists who have mislead in the past Asahara Shoko, Jim Jones, Ayatollah Khomeini, and Charles Manson to name a few. We as a nation have too much at stake to make the wrong decision. Have you done your homework? Research, read, learn, then vote. Don’t be blind and drink the cool-aide like the followers of Jonestown. Get informed. Your economic future, your global safety as an American, your ability to buy a home and keep it all depend on making the right and informed decision.

Tucson Home Sales September 2008
October 10th, 2008 categories: Tucson Real Estate
Tucson home sales for September broke the mold for seasonal sales. Normally sales in September are less than August. Not in 2008. Go figure, the economy has tanked, credit has tanked, nobody fully trusts either candidate for President, nothing but negative-negative-negative in the economic news, yet Tucson home sales go up.
Overall, volume was less by 5.72%. However, number of sales increased. Average and median prices fell. Getting closer and closer to affordability for many potential home buyers.
By the numbers:
- Home Sales Volume: Decreased 5.72%
- 8/08 $215,369,442
- 9/08 $203,048,605
- Average Sales Price: Decreased 8.85%
- 8/08 $238,504
- 9/08 $217,397
- Pending Contracts: Decreased 4.78%
- 8/08 878
- 9/08 836
- Active Listings: Increased 1.22%
- 8/08 7,763
- 9/08 7,858
- New Listings: Increased 4.46%
- 8/08 1,952
- 9/08 2,039
- Home Sales Units: Increased: 3.43%
- 8/08 903 (917 actual)
- 9/08 934 (947 actual)
- Median Sales Price: Decreased 2.43%
- 8/08 $185,000
- 9/08 $180,500
Are buyers realizing bargains and moving on them? Should we hold our breath? Are sales improving? We would all like to say yes.September my be a sign of hope or a fluke. Time will tell. As you remember, last in last month’s message, my prediction for September was a mere 750 sales. Glad I was wrong by a large margin.
October generally sees an increase over September, I predicted 792 for October. Let’s pray that I am equally wrong on that one. I don’t mind being wrong, when it is for the better. Imagine if our politicians admitted when they are wrong. See you next month.

Home Sales Higher Despite Market
October 1st, 2008 categories: Tucson Real Estate
Despite market trends nationwide, Tucson home sales showed some real promise for September. Traditionally September sales for the Tucson real estate market is lower than August by a significant amount. in fact, traditionally homes sales in Tucson for September are 18% lower than August sales. Not this September, without all the data in sales only dropped 2% from August.
I predicted only 750 sales for September nearly a year ago. Was I wrong. Even though this is a preliminary report and the official tally won’t be gathered Friday with an official report in a few weeks, Tucson real estate has already exceeded that mark by over 19%. That’s right, 896 homes have sold for September. That’s 146 more home sales than expected. Good news for Tucson home Sellers.
I’ll see you with more numbers when the official report is out.
