Tucson Real Estate - December 2007 Feature Home
If looking for a luxury home under $1 million on a golf course, you need look no further. I have seen homes well into the millions that do not even compare to this home.
Located northeast of Tucson is Sabino Springs gated golf community. I had the pleasure a previewing a few luxury homes in Sabino Springs for a client. Of the three I previewed, the other two were so so…yawn. Then came West Coronado
Vistas. The owner, fellow Realtor at Tierra Antigua and custom home builder Ken Hobbs, has done an exceptional job with this luxurious home. Pulling up to the home you get the feel that it is very nice, structurally appealing, but not significantly superior to its neighbors. As a hot rodder from the 60’s and 70’s I had a fondness for sleepers. Beautiful shiny cars with attractive clean lines outside and a lot more offered under the hood than the outside reveals. This seemingly quiet looking home is a sleeper.
As soon as you walk up to the front door, you begin to feel the quality this home has to offer. The custom glass entry door has real crystal and lead design. After entering the front door your jaw will drop as you take in the western view that
stretches all the way to Kitt Peak. As you cross the lime stone floor you realize that this home has more quality than some homes priced well over $1 million. The towering 10 foot high
double sliding doors open 24 feet to combine the great room and over sized patio into one large open space. The beauty of the well maintained fairway stretches toward Tucson, and the mountains range over 50 miles away.
The bamboo floor of the den as you pass to the master suite gives you an increasing awareness for the quality of this home. The master suite with gas fireplace has a bathroom for royalty with a closet that is bigger the master bedroom of some homes. This is more like a Masters Suite than a master suite.
The two bedrooms on the opposite side of the home from the master suite are roomy to say the least. The working office room is just that, a working office where full size blue prints can be opened with ease.
The kitchen, oh the kitchen. With double ovens, lots of counter space, and elegance a chef would love. The granite splash surrounding the stove top add to this well designed kitchen. The breakfast nook beside the kitchen has a great view of the surrounding mountains. Perfect for that morning cup of coffee.
The pool is an oasis inviting your return. The professionally landscaped back yard is as inviting as the inside. The views from the back are stunning, to say the least, overlooking the 13th fairway of Arizona National. Home of the University of Arizona men’s golf and women’s golf teams. Teams with Alumni like Jim Furyk, Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa to name a few. You can imagine the beauty of your personal Arizona sunsets. Arizona National is also the home of the Jim and Linda Livengood Toys for Tots Golf Tournament on December 13, 2007.
The garage is definitely over sized. Not only in length, but in height as well. Three eight foot high single garage doors open all the way to the 14 foot high ceiling. If you are a car collector, there is room for stacking cars in each bay. Potentially converting this quiet 3 car garage into a 4, 5 or 6 car garage. The storage room around the corner in the garage is an added bonus.
If what you are looking for is a luxurious home on a golf course, you just found it.
This is a home that is well worth mentioning and being my featured home for December 2007. I’ll pick you up at the airport and we’ll go visit Ken. My phone is (520) 954-2209. Click “Contact Me” on the left for a copy of the floor plans.

Are prices dropping all over the Tucson Area?
November 28th, 2007 // Keith
Keith - It all depends on the area and pricing level of the homes in that geographical area. Some have dropped, some have remained stable, believe it or not a minute amount have increased. In the luxury home market, not as much impact.
