One Great Golf Tournament

Jack and CydIf you missed the TAR (Tucson Association of Realtors) Golf Tournament to benefit Habitat for Humanity Tucson, you missed a great Cyd and Metournament. I had the fortune to play the round with Cyd Bradford (my preferred Escrow Officer), Jack Moran (my Title Account Manager), Jim in his cartand Jim Kenny (El Conquistador Mortgage). I hadn’t seen Jim in nearly five years. It was great to see him again and spend the afternoon with him. I have to say, I do like his golf cart. Thank you Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.

When I pulled into the parking lot 45 minutes before the tournament I had to park in the overflow area. All eighteen holes were doubled up with A and B groups. The group before us started out slow. I just knew this was going to be a long day.

Jack Moran's SwingAbout halfway through the tournament I turned to Jack and asked, “Have you noticed, nobody holding us up in front, and nobody pushing us from behind.” Of all the tournaments I played in, this was the smoothest flow of play for golfers. From the time we teed up at our first tee to the time we picked up the last ball at the last hole, we had zero delays, with no pressure behind us.

Cyd's great shotThe fairways and greens of the El Con Quistador Canada course were in great shape. Ready for Winter players. The greens proved true for Tucson, if in doubt the ball will roll, turn or favor the direction of downtown. Like a magnet pulling a steel marble. Jim and I had our Sky Caddies ready for those questionable distances. I found every foul shot I could muster to get them out of my system. Jack nailed some great distance on his drives. Sometimes to the desert. Cyd did great for having played only playing for six Jim finishing a perfect drivemonths. She and her husband Dave are truly addicted. Playing every weekend, sometimes twice. Jim’s membership and knowledge of the course was a benefit. When he said to lay up, he meant it. It felt good to keep up with him on some drives. Jim’s a good golfer. He contributed more than his fair share to the team.

It was fun, relaxing and with a great group of golfers. I had to leave early to meet a client to write a contract. Cyd and Jack didn’t mind, since we will be opening escrow with Cyd. We’ll have to wait for their comments about the dinner. Maybe next year I’ll be able to hang around for the dinner. Thanks Jack, Thanks Cyd, Thanks Jim, I had a great time. If you missed this year’s event, make sure you show up for next years.

  1. Doug….it was also a pleasure to see you again after several years….and you are correct it was the smoothest shotgun tournament I’ve played in. Maybe you, Jack, Cyd & I can do it again.

Have a great balance of 2007 & on into 2008.

    Jim
