Tucson Del Urich Municipal Golf Course
Dell Urich is a parkland tree-lined courses with relatively flat fairways and big undulating greens. Located in the heart of
The first hole is a 347 yard Par. A slight dip down early fairway and back up to a decent sized fairway leading to a complimentary green. Hit a solid tee shot about 249 yards and your between the mound on the left and the one on the right ready to be on in two looking for a birdie. A great way to start 18 holes
The second hole is a 153 yard Par 3 that has a water hazard to the left that won’t come into play unless you hit a bad hook or pull your shot. This is a good hole for a par. If you’re accurate at 150 yards you could be looking at your second birdie.
The third hole is a straight Par 5 with 530 yards to play with. There is enough forgiveness here to let-er-ripp. Carry the right mound at 298 yards and you have 234 to go. If you keep it left and hit the rough on the edge of the fairway, you have a chance for it to kick or roll back into the fairway for good position. A clean and controlled fairway wood and your within a pitching wedge of the green to be on in three.
The next Par 5 is the 503 yard 6th hole. A nice 249 yard shot with only 273 left. Lay up to 403 yards and your a pitch and two putts away from a par.
The 472 yard 13th hole is a Par 5. The carry for the left bunker is 234 yards. Lay up to 382 yards from the tee and your ready for a pitch, one putt for birdie or two putt for par.
The seventeenth hole is an easy 121 yard Par 3. After a long day on the course
The eighteenth is another let-er-ripp 399 yard Par 4 hole to finish off the day. The ditch before you is a 174 yard carry. Slice it and you’re in the trees. Hit it straight and you’re good to go. A decent 237 drive and your 162 yards out for on in two, a one putt and a beautiful birdie to end the day.
Stop by the restaurant, look down the first tee at Randolph North and plan next weeks outing for the north course. If your game was less than what you wanted, stop by and see Tom Tatum, P.G.A. Head Golf Pro to fix your game. He’d be happy to schedule you for a few lessons.
