Make-A-Wish True Winner - ADOT SECC Golf Tournament
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was the real winner benefiting from the inaugural ADOT SECC Golf Tournament at Grand Valley Golf Course. In a few short months employees from the Arizona Department of Transportation in concert with SECC (State Employee Charitable Campaign) put together a fun and memorable golf tournament.
There was a foursome for every hole to get off to a great shotgun start. Unlike many tournaments I have played in, teams played record breaking time. Rarely was there a wait for the next team to finish a hole.
My team was exceptional. From left to right is Mark Neal, his son Ken Neal, me, and a great client Don Fischer. Kenny’s best drive was 347 yards, Mark’s 308 yards. Don had a few in the mid 200’s I managed a few over 200. My selected drive was one of the few pars we had all day. We all made some PGA quality putts. An overall score of 57 was a dream come true.
Of all the tournaments I have been in, this has to be the top. Players were great, the state employees who put on the tournament were great. The employees from Grand Valley Golf Club were great. I can’t wait for the 2008 tournament. Hats off to everyone 
who put this tournament on. You did a great job. If you want to have tons of fun with some really great people look for the 2nd Annual ADOT SECC Golf Tournament. Make-A-Wish will receive a very nice contribution from this event.
